MEET THE RIDER
JOHN ORCHARD #851

John Orchard is in his first full season with the CMRA. Born in California, raised in Alaska and working in Texas. John has lived in the far corners of North America and we are happy he is now with the CMRA family.

As an IT manager with security experts Brinks Incorporated, we weren't able to actually catch up with John, due to an irregularity with our background check. So we just hacked into Brink's human resource computers and this is what we came up with.

MEET THE RIDER...this is John Orchard #851.
----------
Born: Pasadena, CA, <7/01/69>
Residence: Dallas TX
Profession: I.T. Manager - Brinks, Inc.
Maritial Status: Recently Engaged to Marian Krugers
----------
Interests outside of roadracing: Dirt biking - there's nothing like spending the weekend camping with your buds and your dirt bikes.

Scuba diving, travel, etc.

----------
How the motorcycle bug started: · Got into riding motorcycles - 1992. Did a lot of sport touring on big liter bikes (trips to Canada, rode the Alps, did an IronButt ride, etc.) for about ten years before I discovered racing. I'm sure I'll get back to some of my bike trips that I enjoyed, but for now, my poor street bikes collect dust while I learn to race!
----------
Racing history:
CMRA Rider's School completed June 2001.

Completed the last four race weekends of the CMRA schedule in 2001.

2002 - here we are, first full AM year!! I was friends with most of the Village Idiots prior to my racing. These guys have been the greatest to me all year. They've all really helped me out. Not only are they a lot of fun to hang with, but they've got the right perspective and approach to club racing. I learn a lot from these guys!

Short Bus Racing - this is our 2002 MWSS endurance team. Sort of a distant cousin to the Village Idiots I like to say. There are five of us on the team and we all began racing at roughly the same time- Albert Schilling, John Sblendorio, Ken Cyr and Shane Carter.

Advice for anyone wanting to start racing?
Don't live in Alaska. Picking local eskimos out of your tire warmers on race day is a bitch...
