| When
and where did you start racing? |
Started
racing in 1997 in Florida at the tracks in the southeast
spending my amateur season in the LW ranks on a Honda
Hawk. Moved to Dallas in Jan of 1998 and took the year
off from racing, and started racing with the CMRA in 1999
in the endurance series on a lightweight team on a whim.
Had a great time, really enjoyed the folks in the club,
so I decided to ease back into racing this time as an
newbie expert in the MW class. Founded the Village Idiots
MW endurance team mid 2000 with good friend Steve Morey
and won the MWSB championship in 2001.

| Why do you race
with the CMRA? |
I discovered early
on in my participation with the CMRA that this club has
a great vibe to it. The vast majority of the racers will
do anything to help you out, down to pulling parts of
their own bikes to get you back out there after a crash
or mishap. The level of competition is very high and race
weekends run smoothly. But most importantly, I've gained
countless new quality friendships while competing in the
CMRA, and I look forward to meeting many more quality
folks through the years.

What is your favorite
class to race and why?
|
Endurance racing
is killer fun! I love the team aspect and the challenges
associated with endurance racing, both on and off the
track. Tied for the top spot would be sprinting in MWSS:
simply the best racing with the best competitors in the
club.

Advice for anyone
starting to race?
|
Listen to the
folks that have been doing this for a while -- and take
to heart what they have to say. Don't focus on results
at first, concentrate on developing your skills, results
will take care of themselves. Don't take yourself too
seriously! Race within your limits, and look for small
gains everytime you get on the bike.
Oh, and learn to like macaroni and cheese
... and welcome to the addiction!
