I have semi-restored a basket case 1975 Yamaha RD250B for my kid to ride to school next year. It looks good, starts good, idles pretty good and runs, but it doesn't run good.
I wish I had more time to mess with it, but I just don't. I need some professional help, say
an RD expert to whip it into crisp running shape.

Can anyone recommend someone that knows RDs within a couple hundred miles of Dallas, Texas?? I need someone that really knows old 2-stroke twins that can really make it run good. I know there has to be some 2-stroke guys still in the CMRA.

As you know, most dealer shops don't want to work on bikes this old and most mechanics don't even know we used to have 2-stroke street bikes! Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Slade,
You know and work with one of THE best 2 stroke tuners in this area. I mean it! and have seen his mastery at work. I'm talking about Mr. Erik Frank of FAST Motorsports. He eats, drinks, and breaths Caster Oil!

I race an RD 350 so I guess that makes me some what of an expert on them. I would be happy to work on it but I live in Wichita so that probably isn't much help. The bikes are pretty simple to work on although everything needs to be right for them to run well. Make sure the carbs are clean and sinqued and the points and timing are right. Several guys around the CMRA have raced them at one time or another so someone closer to you should be able to help you out.
