Very slick little missy. I checked that just prior to my post, and it still had the MSR schedule. It's gonna take more than that to convince me I'm crazy.

Please be aware that TWS charges $15 per vehicle for anyone arriving Thursday evening through Friday evening.

They charge this whether you are just dropping off your trailer/bike stuff and staying elsewhere or planning to stay at the track overnight.

This is a TWS fee, they charge it to everyone (including me), so please be prepared.

Sorry, let me clarify.

If you enter the track between 6 and 10 p.m. on Thursday night, you will have to pay TWS $15 per vehicle.

If you enter the track between 6 and 10 p.m. on Friday night, you will have to pay TWS $15 per vehicle (unless you already paid on Thursday night).

Their reasoning is that LSTD rents the track from Friday morning until @ 5 p.m. CMRA rents the track from Saturday morning until Sunday evening. So if you drop stuff any other time, you have to pay TWS for that convenience (using their water, electricity, security, etc.)

Well I hate to even post on this, but I'm at a loss every time they charge me to come in the gate friday night. Especially when I can sit outside the gate for free all night.

So if i'm reading this correct. I can come in the gate during the LSTD event and pay CMRA $15 for the whole weekend. Or I can come at 7pm friday and pay TWS $15 and CMRA $15, that makes perfect since. The cool thing is when your trailer is to tall to fit and you have to wait until 10pm for him to finish collecting this sinceless fee before he will open the back gate.

I don't recall him ever charging this at a trackday for early arrivals.

Sorry if I seem disapointed about this, but he still owes me for a roof on my trailer.

I realize that there is nothing that any of us can do about this. Especially considering Nancy and the rest of the staff has to pay this charge also.

This is just confusing... So will I pay more if I come on Thurs night and just camp all weekend or should I wait till Fri morning and come in? Will I get charged to come to the LSTD event AND to the race event? I still have a problem with how much we charge spectators to show up. How can I convince my friends to show up and get a taste when it's $10-15 a piece... I can't afford to cover everyones entry fee...

I agree, it is confusing. Here are the fees an adult can expect to pay at the gate at each track we attend.

OHR & MSR
Thursday 6-10 p.m. ~ $15.00
Friday 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. ~ $15.00
Saturday 6 a.m. - 3 p.m. ~ $15.00
Saturday 3 p.m.-10 p.m. ~ $10.00
Sunday 6 a.m.-3 p.m. ~ $10.00
(The fee drops to $10 after 3p.m. on Saturday)

Hallett
Thursday 6-10 p.m. ~ $20.00
Friday 6 a.m.-3 p.m. ~ $20.00
Friday 3 p.m.-10 p.m. ~ $15.00
Saturday 6 a.m.-3 p.m. ~ $15.00
Saturday 3 p.m.-10 p.m. ~ $10.00
Sunday 6 a.m.-3 p.m. ~ $10.00
(The fee drops to $15 after 3p.m. on Friday and to $10 after 3p.m. on Saturday)

TWS
Thursday 6-10 p.m. ~ $15.00 (CMRA) / $15.00 (TWS)
Friday 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. ~ $15.00 / (6-10 p.m. $15.00 TWS)
Saturday 6 a.m. - 3 p.m. ~ $15.00
Saturday 3 p.m.-10 p.m. ~ $10.00
Sunday 6 a.m.-3 p.m. ~ $10.00
(The fee drops to $10 after 3p.m. on Saturday)

Hallett is more expensive on Thursday and Friday because we are paying to rent the track. At the other tracks, LSTD is paying for the Friday track rental.

As far as the fees go, $15 is a lot of money, but considering you get 2-3 days of entertainment, it's not too bad. Some movie theatres charge up to $8 to see a 2-hour movie.

Just to clarify, for TWS on Thurs and Fri, that's $15 for CMRA plus $15 for TWS, so a total of $30?

So if I arrive on Friday at 7am and i just camp all weekend then I would only have to pay the $15 once? But if I arrive on Thursday night I pay $30 total for the weekend? If my understanding is correct then I'll just sleep in my truck on Thursday night, enter on Friday morning and just camp all weekend... sure it's only $15 more but every little bit counts!

Okay, one more time. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

If you arrive on Thursday night between 6 and 10 p.m.:
1. anyone over the age of 12 will pay $15 per person to the CMRA. That armband is good for the entire weekend. You will put the armband ON YOUR ARM and then you won't have to pay that fee again if you come and go out of the track.
2. In addition to the CMRA's $15 fee, TWS charges a $15 per carload fee.

2. In addition to the CMRA's $15 fee, TWS charges a $15 per carload fee.

The hours in question for the additional TWS fee are Thursday night between 6 and 10 p.m. OR Friday night between 6 and 10 p.m.

The track is not rented by LSTD or CMRA during those 8 hours, so TWS charges a fee for you to enter the track during those hours.

TWS has been doing this for a long time...it's not anything new. Just thought I'd remind everyone about it.

so if your doin' the trackday and racing it's $30 no way around it..? What if I bring a friend? Do they have to pay the $30 too or only $15 for the weekend? Do guests have to pay for the track day?

I seriously hope your kidding. You keep it up and your going to have to go through Prov Nov class again and work corners as punishment for asking repetitive goffy questions.

I keep asking about a printed flyer to put out in the local shops to draw in more spectators. Why can we not get this? It's smart business. More spectators= more revenue=keeping racers cost (entry fees/camping fees/gate fees)down. Not to mention more possible competitors. Most of the Salesmen/pats counter worker that I ask at the DFW area shops never know about a race coming to town and said they would be willing to put a flyer on the doors and counter if we provided them.

I don't think the riders should have to pay gate fees at any race with any club any where. The riders are the entertainment!! Its not like we don't pay to race anyway. My two cents!

Dustin, I would agree with you. But unfortunately currently racer outweigh spectators. So the only people we are entertaining is us and our families.
Being a non profit organization, our income is based on gate fee. If we lost riders gate fees, we would have to recoup it though race entry fees.

And that is why I think we as an organization should spend a small amount of money on advertizing. Atleast design a few flyers that individuals could print out. I have friends in all the bike shops in my area and they are glad to pass out flyers. I have ridden bikes for years and always been within an hour of a track and I never new they existed or when anything was goin' on. If I could've gotten some instructions or info I think I would've gotten started alot sooner.

One of our members designed a poster a couple of months ago. He sent it to me, but the background was too dark. I asked him to lighten it up, but haven't ever heard back. We had planned to post it on the website so that anyone who wanted to print it off could make copies and distribute them wherever they wanted.

The club has made posters/flyers in the past, with very little effect. Distribution is a problem, people lose interest, bike shops may or may not put them up, etc.

I have sent info to the local papers everywhere we go so our race could be included in their weekend goings-on section. The info never shows up in the paper.

If everyone who had a good idea about how to better the club would actually do something to make the idea a reality, there'd be a lot more stuff happening around here.

As I've said before, there are over 700 members in our club and I'd guess that less than 50 ever actually do anything to help out.

Occasionally I have folks volunteer, but for whatever reason, they very rarely follow through. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

I can understand and I hate it when people complain but don't want to help. So here I am. I really would like to help. Unfortunately I don't know alot of design software so if someone could point me in the right direction. Is there a specific software I could use to create the flyers? Once I get them designed I will post them for people to download and print.

so, who here knows what software I need? Preferably Free or CHEAP.. lol. Racing has already taken most of my $$$$$$

Oh.. and once we have a ton of spectators, I'll start using my umbrella girl!!! She has some friends for those new racers who don't have a broad support base yet... /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Russel you can get a 30-day trial of Paint Shop Pro X for free off of their website www.jasc.com (http://www.jasc.com)
It will let you extend it another 30 days after that. It is not what I would call design software, but if you are a bit creative, you can do some neat stuff. Take a look at the front page of my web site, link below. I did both images (the logo and the picture) in PSP.

If I show up in my camper around 11 or 12 at night, will I have a problem sleeping outside the gates? Will other people be there?
