Best place to watch the races:

At the end of the front straight up on the hill. You can see the entire infield, and the riders coming down from the corkscrew. You can also check out the last corner and the front straight if you're positioned just right.

Rent a scooter, and ride around town. Don't highside it at Knob Hill. :-) Sorry, had too.....

Camping or hotel?
And how far away does one have to go for the hotels?

What about tickets - Big Dog, Suite or General admission?

We have done the flagroom passes, and have chosen them again this year. I like the meals included.

I've been there many times, I have ticket stubs from : 02,01,00,99,98 WSBK and even 94,93 USGP. I watched Kevin Schwants career ending high side at the first right hander in the corkscrew, and in 98-99 ish we witnessed Gary Rothwell perform on Cannery Row on Saturday night for free the first and last time anything like that will happen there.

If you don't have reservations then you have to stay 1-2 hours away. Rooms in Monterey area are 150 and up a night 2 night min. Take a sweater for sure it gets cold and foggy and the sun gets hot as it does here, but if the on shore breeze stays going from the bay it stays cool. G.A. Tickets are no problem. If you come in from Salinas and take the Fort Ord entrance, "back way to the track" the speed limit in there is 35 and they will be there, the FED police run radar. The track is very scenic up high in the hills and kind of in a bowl on top of it all.

If you're coming or going to San Fran and you have lots of time take hwy 1 during the day. Also, if you go thru Big Bend National park there are some big redwoods in there, from Santa Cruz to San Jose.
I won't be going this year tho.....

Oh yeah, after the races go to Canery (sp?) Row to check out the sights. You'll see one of just about every motorcycle ever made. Lots of interesting people to see too.

General admission + paddock pass minimum...
