Is the "group practice" on Sat. morning at Cresson $35.00 extra? Do I need to add it to my Sprint pre-entry form?

Group practice is always $35 if you don't have an entry on that day. Practice is included in your entry fees on the day of your race.

In other words, there are no big bike sprints on Saturday, so practice is extra $$. If you don't want to race on Sunday, but want to do the practice, that would also be $35.

We are also going to do the Big Bike endurance on Sat. and I'm sprinting on Sunday, but it says Big Bike Endurance only practice just before the race and also group practice earlier in the morning....so do we get to practice on our endurance bike during the group practice without paying $35 or do we have to pay? Sorry for the confusion, I should have mentioned I was doing BBE the first time. Also, I may want to ride my sprint bike during Sat group practice, in which case I'm sure I would have to pay $35 but now I'm wondering if we also have to pay $35 for the endurance bike.

Paul, there will be two 45 min Endurance only sessions. If you want to ride your endurance bike in the sprint sessions you will have to pay the $35.00. There will be a different sticker for each session so we will know who paid for what.

Group practice is for sprint bikes. If you want to practice an endurance bike in the group practice, you must pay $35.

If you have paid for an entry, then your practice on that bike on that day is included.

If you do not have an entry on that day and you want to participate in practice on that day, you must be the $35.

Danny you may say that now, but let me know what you think when its your 2-stroke melting down and seizing because of the heat. Bike bikes can handle the heat a little better than the mini's.

Stand by for a CMRA public announcement.

Since this event is a TMGP crossover I will be reserving a portion of the skid pad area for our TMGP visitors. The area will be marked off with streamers. This will be for Saturday only. I am giving plenty of notice so please don't give me any flack.

If you haven't already done so take a close at the schedule. All mini racing will be on the 1.3 mile course starting at 7:45am with CMRA Mini Sprints and Mini Endurance up first followed by TMGP sprints after lunch. At 8:30am big bike practice will start on the 1.7 mile course with endurance only practice up first followed by three rounds of group practice (sprint practice) and then we'll finish up with a second round of endurance only practice before lunch. Big bike endurance teams there will be approximately an hour and a half of endurance only practice available. The riders running both endurance races should have plenty of time to get in some practice on the 1.7 mile course. There will be a riders meeting before practice starts for each course, please attend those meetings as there will be more details provided at that point.

We'll have tech open on Friday night for pre-entered riders and teams only and I'll be on hand to answer questions. Saturday morning we will be running two tech lines. One for minis and one for big bikes, with big bike endurance bikes first. Big bike endurance teams may enter sprint practice for $35.00 per team but team members may only ride the teamís endurance bike or backup bike (with the same number) not their personal sprint bikes. There will be separate stickers for each group so don't even try it. Make sure you bring your registration receipt to tech.

If anyone has any specific questions please post them here.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

Walter and Nancy,

The way I read the schedule, registration and tech don't open till 8:45AM for BB endurance. BUT, the first endurance practice starts at 8:30AM and ends at 9:15. So basically, there is no way anyone that's showing up Saturday morning can make the first practice. Is there any chance that registration and tech will be available before 8:45 so we'll have a chance to at least get a little bit of the first practice, like maybe at 7:45?

Also, isn't it a little disproportionate that endurance only gets 1.5 hours of practice Saturday while the sprints get 3 hours?

David, as I posted, forget what the schedule says about tech hours. Tech opens at 6:30 a.m. for everyone. On the first page of this thread, Walter posted that there would be two tech lines: one for minis and one for big bikes.

As far as Registration hours go, if there is not a huge crowd for minis (probably not), then we will be happy to take big bike endurance entries earlier than 8:45.

Pre-entry is the way to go! /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I'm still curious about the large amount of sprint practice provided on Saturday compared to the Saturday endurance practice, especially since the morning session is a maybe for endurance teams that did not pre-register.

The schedule is set by Walter. He's been at the track since yesterday morning (Thursday), so you will have to ask him scheduling questions when you get there.

Sorry I couldn't be more help on that one.

i really like the saturday morning practice schedule. the open in between the endurance works well for providing tune/maint time on bikes..even if i was working on somebody elses machine.

Will, you serious? You know, if they give you 3 hrs of endurance practice and you want to take an hour in the middle to work on the bike, that's allowed. What I couldn't figure was that on Saturday (endurance day), there was 1.5 hrs of endurance practice and 3 hrs of sprint (or non-endurance) practice. On Sunday, there was an additional 2.5 hrs of sprint practice and (of course) no endurance practice.

So, on the weekend, 5.5 hrs of sprint practice available vs. 1.5 hrs of endurance practice. Seems like there could at least have been 3 hrs of endurance practice on Saturday. What with the mini-endurance going at the same time, we signed up for the extra Sat practice just to make sure everyone got to get on the bike before the race. Don't know this situation will really come up again though, so no big deal.
