a few questions,
does anyone know the class structures?
do you have to be a member of anything to come out and race?
is there any special prep you are required to do to your bike?
who was the man on the grassy knoll?
thanks

I guess I'll have to enter in the Vintage and over 40 also. What is considered vintage? Is there going to be some sort of class for the kids? 6 years and under? PW50 class? Lookin forward to going to Hallett again!!

Steve sorry but no kid classes this year. Not enought time with the short days. But the course is well laid out, 3 miles shorter this year,we couldn't get the property next door. But 6.5 miles is a good work out. we're using all of the road course expect turn 10. Norm

Will the pro 2.5 hour race have an extension? Seems like in year 2 the amatuers in the shorter races had a shorter course. Skipping another event for the Gold rush, Hopefully a few more Hawkers are gonna ride and I am getting Cox a YZ for the weekend so it should be a ball. I think I am gonna run the team race on an xr 100 with my Hare scramble partner. Sunday, It's on and out with the 250. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

We have our local lease booked for that weekend but this sound way too fun.

If you own a dirt bike, This is one of those must ride at least once races. I have raced it twice and had a ball. I can see the grin on all of your faces already when you pull up and pass Mr. moto on the pavement. It is a hoot! I crashed in the bus stop the 2nd year thinking I could pass the whole pro class in and out of that turn. Bleeding and all still ws fun.ps Anyone find Troy a dirtbike yet? /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

So what kind of tires are generally used for 250 + bikes, just the regular old knobbys??

And, is the endurance like a hare scramble kind deal where each team member rides his stint on his own bike or is this an endurance on the same bike with the riders swapping out?

Sounds fun!

John: Knobbys work well on the asphalt, slide a little, good practice for real road racing. On the team race Saturday it's a 2 man team 3 hour race. You can use 1 or 2 bikes, you change as many times as you want. You change riders or fuel in a special area. Hope to see you there. If you need an entry we can fax one to you, we are still accepting pre entries. Thanks Norm

I am working on hatching a plan to bring a team to the Gold Rush! It's kind of like laying an egg - it's painful and creates a sense of urgency. But anyway...let's see, no practice, I haven't raced an enduro since 1987, and I might be riding an open class four-stroke Yamaha of either 400, 426 or 450 displacement. Yeah! I'm ready - to bounce off trees!
