Buck, I hope I am wrong but dont hold your breath. They have been talking about doing something there for 10 years. That is the old blimp base outside of Hitchcock on 2004. They layed down about a mile of asphault a few years ago on top of the concrete and some of the guys would run there on weekends. I went out a couple of times, not a pretty site unles you were on a YSR.

Unfortunately, I think that website is pretty dated. We used to go out there occassionally... back in 2000... when it was this layout:

It is VERY short... like a 1/8th mile or something? Great for Motards, 125s and smaller though... carts as well. Big bikes just can't stretch their legs though. Hey Wade, remember your '00 Gixxer750 there?? /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif This is the track's biggest/longest corner... at the end of the 50-ish yard straight.

Anyway, it's been years since we've been there, but I haven't heard much of anything in a while.

I remember that track. Lots of fun on a YSR.

The MOST fun was beatin up on the street liter bikes on Stuart Fulton's YSR/XR100.

Heh Heh Heh

Surface was really horrible, though. A couple inches of asphalt over the old concrete pad.

I don't know... it looks like some of the pages might have been updated.

They claim they will be adding a one mile loop of track to the north side of the existing track creating a 1.8 mile track.(Phase 1-Brittany Circuit). In early 2006, they say they will add a west loop to the existing 1.7 mile track creating a 2.8 mile track.(Phase 2 - Brodie Circuit). When they fisinh those two loops, they say they are going to tear up the old track surface and replace it.

That's a lot of "talk" and I'll believe it if they are even close to being on schedule next year and don't run out of money before mid 2006.
