Can anyone reccomend what sprockets to have on hand for the CMRA tracks? Just bought a bike, but it has the gearing on it from Daytona last year. (45 rear, haven't counted the front yet) This will be my first 600, but I don't think Daytona gearing will work well for Oak Hill /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
Thanks,

On my 01 GSX-R600,
on the small tracks, (OHR, Hallet, MSR) I run 14 on the front and 48 on the rear. At TWS I run 16 on the front and 48 on the rear. I've had experts tell me otherwise, but it works for me.

Matt,
We ran 15 front sprockets allseason, it has a 16 on it now. At oak hill i used a 46 or 47 rear. Tws 44 rear same at cresson and i believe at hallet. 44-47 will work at all tracks around here, the bad think about 14 teeth the chain seems too rub on the swingarm which means more drag.

So....What sprockets did you decide on running?

Hey, I Hear these gsxrs are bad about the #5 allen bolt backing out. Its the one that holds the shift "star" thingy in place. I checked mine and had it locktighted.

See ya at Oak Hill,
Todd

Well, I think as a starting point, I'll go with Bryan's reccomendations, except I'll try a 45 instead of a 44, since I already have a 45.

I removed the #5 allen bolt, so now it can never suprise me by backing out. You have to be pro-active about these things! /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

I'm going to remove 5th and 6th gears to save weight since I never use them at oak hill. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Its also a good idea to drain all of your brake fluid and run only 1/2 quart of oil. Those fluids can weigh a lot! :p
